No Spot for Hyderabad FC in any AFC Competition


FC Pune City has been replaced by Hyderabad FC after their owners have withdrawn their interest and shut down their franchise. After a huge financial setback Pune City Fc owners Wadhawan group decided to rule out. Although the junior team will still be operational.

The new franchisee would not be able to take part in any AFC tournament for the net two years.
According to the AFC (Article 13.A.4), its notified that there is a must two years waiting period for a new team to qualify for AFC competition.

Article 13.A.4 
The membership and/or the contractual relationship mush have lasted at the start of the Licensing process at least two consecutive years. Any alteration to the club's legal form or company structure (including, changing its headquarters, name, club colours, or transferring stakeholding between different club/entities) in order to facilitate its qualification on sporting merit and/or it's receipt of a license is deemed as an interruption of membership or contractual relationship (if any) within the meaning of this provision.

The topper of the ISL will be handed over the ticket for the AFC competition but Hyderabad Fc has to wait for more two years.
ISL season 6  will be kick-off on the 20th October 2019.
