Mumbai will host AFC Women Asian Cup 2022
The D.Y Patil Stadium Mumbai will host AFC Women Asian Cup 2022.
In recent days, Indian women football team has remarkably grown, in the month of June this year they jumped six places to 57th in the FIFA ranking.
AIFF bid for continental Championship but AFC asked all the bidders to select one city to host the championship, AIFF chose D.Y Patil Stadium Mumbai.
This stadium has a vast record of hosting big games like the Group stage and Semifinale of U-17 FIFA World Cup 2017. Indian National Football Men team also played so many games in this stadium like in the last year they lift the first-ever Intercontinental Championship. D.Y Pato; stadium also hosts the final of Inaugural season of ISL in 2014.
D.Y Patil stadium is a world-class stadium though it needs some modification until AFC gives the green signal.
Tashkent (Uzbekistan) and Taipei (Taiwan) are the competing cities.
