Mohun Bagan and East Bengal relegated to second division
Shocking news for Mohun Bagan and East Bengal Fans they are now slipped to the second division, the first time in the history of Indian Football.
Mohun Bagan and East Bengal always played in the top tier of Indian Football since the starting days of Indian football but now those days are gone.
AIFF all set to make ISL as the top tier league of India and the winner of ISL directly get a slot in Asian Football Confederations(AFC)champions league preliminary qualifiers from the next season.
Mohun Bagan and East Bengal won thrice National Football league and since the competition was renamed to I-league in 2007. Mohun Bagan won it in 2014 but East Bengal yet to lift the cup.
Till now Winner of I-league directly get a slot in AFC champions league but from this season onward I-league champions will get a direct slot in the AFC Cup.
Today evening AIFF calls a meeting where all the I-league clubs will be participating and it will be the decider for the I-league clubs future.
